Welcome to OpenPortal OpenPortal is an open source project headed by Brad Neuberg (VP of Technology, BaseSystem, Inc.) dedicated to building new collaboration paradigms as well as a political movement to challenge the power and control portal sites like Disney's GO Network portal and Excite exert on the Internet. OpenPortal wants to fight portals with portals by commodifying the very software Yahoo! and Excite use to run themselves. As Linux is to commodifying the OS, OpenPortal is to commodiying portals. OpenPortal is currently in beta testing stages and will be available in June or July under the GPL (GNU Public License).
